I could write everyone day about how wonderful this new toshiba digital tuner dvd recorder is only won’t waste your time with facts most won’t understand lately saying i obtain been using 3 panasonic dvd recorders with built in analog tuners for over 3 years. I received this unit in july when it became available and it is great. Look absolutely not further if you are looking for a dvd recorder with a built in digital tuner. It works flawlessly, is priced humble attending amazon and i obtain not had one coaster yet or had it not accept a particular brand of blank media even though i recommend sticking with the superior tayio-yuden dvds made in japan. The panasonics were everyone picky about brands of blank dvds and the different formats they canful be purchased in. I found this unit was pretty easy on set up and later scanning for everyone available channels upon my cable system i was ready on go. The recorded results i procure later recording upon any of the digital or high def channels are beautiful. To procure the best picture, i always record upon the alternate high def digital channel that is available upon everyone the major networks including 3 pbs channels upon my cable system. My one complaint is what another reviewer has mentioned, the horrible tiny, dull grey printing upon the dark black remote control! If only they had used bright white paint instead of the dull gray print upon the black case owners might obtain been able on see what command you are pushing. It is almost impossible on read without bright light in the room. I obtain learned on remember what button is which from memory only Toshiba DR570 makes me crazy thinking if they had only used the same white print they placed upon the tiny buttons! I am sorry i cannot write more giving details about this recorder only you canful procure that elsewhere. I will lately tell you this product does what it is supposed on do perfectly and does it very well. I highly recommend this unit and the price has dropped since i bought mine in july making it even a better deal.
